Shantanu Anil Barhate is a dynamic and enthusiastic individual currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Analytics from the prestigious MIT Art, Design and Technology University – School of Engineering. He is a passionate learner, problem-solver, and developer with a vision to build technology-driven solutions that impact lives positively and sustainably. Shantanu’s technical interests revolve around artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data science, full-stack web development, and smart automation systems. His curiosity and drive to apply knowledge for the greater good led him to develop “Campus Navigator,” a full-fledged, interactive campus guidance system that earned him the SCOPUS INDEX 2025 title and widespread appreciation for its innovation and practicality. The foundation of Shantanu’s technical journey lies in his formal education at MIT ADT, where he built strong theoretical and practical knowledge in data analytics, programming, and machine learning. His experience spans developing responsive websites, cloud-based applications, and working with real-time data platforms. His project “Campus Navigator” stands as a significant milestone in his academic and professional growth. This platform was designed to assist students, visitors, and staff in easily navigating a vast university campus through real-time direction guidance, interactive floor maps, and intelligent pathfinding features. With restricted campus boundaries, dynamic route options, GPS location usage, Firebase-backed authentication, Firestore database integration, and responsive design, the application is an example of efficient design meeting real-world needs. Shantanu’s interest in research and hands-on work has led him to contribute to multiple academic projects. He has worked on “CropX,” a predictive system for crop yield and disease detection using weather patterns, soil health data, and AI-based image classification of diseased crops. He is passionate about using data to improve agricultural productivity and believes in building tools that empower local farmers. He has actively participated in conferences and technical paper submissions related to smart agriculture, automation, and data analytics, showcasing his work at inter-college and national levels. His academic journey is complemented by various certifications in cloud computing (AWS and Azure basics), machine learning, Python programming, and data visualization, which he pursued independently to stay ahead in the tech landscape. In terms of professional experience, Shantanu completed an internship as a Frontend Web Developer at Prodigy Infotech from January to February 2024. During this internship, he delivered multiple projects showcasing both front-end and back-end skills. His work included UI/UX design, API integration, JavaScript interactivity, and working with tools such as Firebase and Git. The internship enhanced his project management capabilities, taught him how to work in agile environments, and instilled a sense of responsibility in meeting deadlines while delivering quality output. Shantanu also applied these skills in his Campus Navigator project, where he handled the complete development cycle from ideation to deployment. Shantanu’s achievements include participating in national-level hackathons, coding competitions, and innovation challenges. He has worked as part of the design and development team of the CodeChef MIT chapter, contributing to both creative and technical aspects. He is also actively involved in freelance projects and entrepreneurial activities. Beyond academics, he runs a small clothing business and manages it independently, including inventory, sales, and taxation (filing income tax returns without GST registration due to the small scale). This entrepreneurial journey reflects his time management skills, independence, and financial responsibility, making him a well-rounded individual prepared for both technical and business-oriented challenges. One of Shantanu’s distinguishing traits is his forward-thinking mindset. While Campus Navigator already includes user location tracking, interactive maps, and Firebase-backed data management, he has envisioned advanced features for future versions. These include magnetic positioning, Wi-Fi triangulation for precise indoor tracking, voice assistant integration, AR-based direction overlays, event announcements, offline Progressive Web App (PWA) capabilities, and accessibility options for users with special needs. These features are being prototyped and refined through research and continuous development. Shantanu is also preparing for a career in AI, data engineering, and automation roles, having applied for internship and full-time positions with companies that value innovation and practical skills. His interview experiences include data science, cloud networking, and application support roles, where he has showcased his knowledge of SQL, Python scripting, cloud platforms, and business intelligence tools like Power BI and Tableau. Overall, Shantanu Anil Barhate stands out as a young innovator who combines academic excellence, real-world development experience, research aptitude, and entrepreneurial spirit. His recognition under SCOPUS INDEX 2025 reflects not just his technical capability but his commitment to building inclusive, scalable, and future-ready solutions. Through his dedication and passion, he continues to grow as a promising engineer prepared to lead in a technology-driven future.
