Dr. V. Bena Jothy is working as Associate Professor of Physics in Women’s Christian College since 25th June 1991 in the self financing scheme and from 13th June 2007 till date in the aided scheme. Academic Achievements She has got good academic records with University second rank (Madurai Kamaraj University) in M. Sc Physics and University first rank in M. Phil Physics (Alagappa University). She has cleared State Level Screening Test (SLST) conducted by the University of Madras in1990. Research Activities Her field of Research is spectroscopy. She has published 110 papers in International referred journals, presented 109 papers in International conferences and 166 papers in National conferences and received 1 patent. She has served as referee to journals like Analyst, Royal society of Chemistry (ASC) Publication (Im. Fac.: 4.0), Material Sciences and Applications etc. She has and is serving as referee to Spectrochimica Acta A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy (Im. Fac.: 4.4 ) and Journal of Molecular Structure (Im. Fac.: 3.8). Reviewed more than 75 research articles. She has guided 11 M. Phil scholars. She is serving as a research guide in M.S.University. 18 scholars have been awarded Ph.D, 2 have been submitted thesis and 5 scholars are pursuing research under her guidance and co-guidance.
